Best apps to make learning the drums fun

Best Apps for Learning Drums Fun

I always tell the parents of my students, introduce your child the best apps for Drum Lessons on your phone that bring about a positive result.

Without a doubt, children nowadays are very tech-savvy and pick up apps and games with great ease. So many parents come to me and ask “My child does not practice enough. I’m so tired of telling them to get off their phones! Please could you give us a solution to this problem? Could you speak to them in the next class and tell them to focus more on practicing the drums rather than wasting time on the mobile?”

One day, during one such class, I asked my student “What is your favorite thing to do on your parent’s cellphone?” to which my student said, “I love playing games!!” The answer was, of course, up to what I expected from the students. Then I introduced all my students to some great tools and apps that made drumming super fun and exciting for them. Their parents also saw the changes in their kids and were pleasantly surprised!

Make it fun with the best apps for Drum Lessons

Metronome

A metronome is a must for drummers of all levels. It’s what helps us ensure that we practice on the beat, and we also improve our consistency that way. If you have an acoustic kit, there are so many metronome apps available online which are free to download. Download anyone you like and practice away! If you have digital drums, you’ll have a metronome built into your module, and you can turn it on or off with the push of a button.

Coach Feature

Well, this feature is mostly available with Roland V-Drums. Roland Digital Drums come with coach function, which has options like time check (you can see how consistent your groove is) and more!

Backing Tracks

You’ll never get tired or bored of playing along with the same track over and over again with the help of a good backing tracks app. There are plenty of free drum-less backing tracks available on YouTube which you can load into your module. So, go ahead, drum away!

Melodics

Melodics is an app that I recommend to all the parents of newly started drummers. For me, Melodics is one of the best apps for drum lessons. As I was saying earlier, kids love playing games! Melodics is an app that teaches how to play along to songs in the form of a game! It’s incredible how children almost forget that they are learning “drums” while using the app. Without knowing it, they’re learning the parts to some of their favorite songs! I could go on and on regarding many such apps that are available to make learning the drums super fun.

Conclusion

I think it’s great that children today are so good at learning and finding more and more apps and games that engage them. This way, all we need to do is to try and combined this with drums. And that’s it! With the number of options you have on the internet, before you know it, your child will look forward to practicing every day because of how enjoyable the experience is! After all learning any musical instrument is all about enjoying the journey, and apps are a great way to go!

Do share your experience to let your child learn a musical instrument. I am sure it is a fun routine. Also share if you have some of other best apps for Drum Lessons.
